The Story

Given the ambition of the series, we are adding four new episodes, bringing the total to nine episodes of 30 to 45 minutes each.

TO DIVE INTO THE HEART OF THE ENIGMA AND SEE WHAT NO ONE HAD EVER SEEN

Because stonemason have a much keener eye for stone cutting than anyone else, and to our knowledge, no one has delved as deeply into the mystery of these cyclopean constructions in Peru which we are going to do throughout this series.

FORGET EVERYTHING YOU THINK YOU KNOW, THE MYSTERY GOES BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN IMAGINE

It is impossible to formulate plausible hypotheses about the extraction, transport, design, and placement of these complexly shaped blocks without knowing all their characteristics... and as with our previous film BARABAR, these characteristics will greatly put into perspective the hypotheses formulated to date.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE SINCE THE PREVIOUS CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN?

While the stonemasons are our skilled field investigators, we have compared their observations with those found in archaeological publications, articles, and books by academically recognized experts. Then we turned to construction experts. We wrote and edited the first seven episodes, which took about nine months of editing... because we're preparing a great series for you.

We’ve edited the first 6 episodes: as drafts (not finalized yet, we’re waiting to have the whole series completed before doing so). This process, along with the research and investigation, has taken about 9 months… because we’re crafting a beautiful series for you, and we’re weighing everything carefully!

We brought photogrammetry into play (a technique that allows us to capture, to scale and in 3D, portions of walls, blocks, or details), met with other stonemasons, structural engineers, architects, and specialists in heavy lifting and transportation — to whom we presented the clues we had collected… you will discover them in the series.
Then, during a tour we organized in Peru with our travelers in June 2025, we took advantage of the opportunity to film for 15 more days and:

check important elements on the sites we had already seen,
visit the Cachiqata quarry (a few kilometers from Ollantaytambo),
meet a Peruvian archaeological team at the Sacsayhuaman site (searching for tunnels connecting this site to Qorikancha, thus confirming local legends),
visit new sites around Cusco (Zona Equis, Qenko, and Small Qenko), then Tipon, Pisac and Puma Punku.

Such an ambitious series is expensive: without your interest and support, it would not exist. And as you know, we are 100% independent, which allows us to go faster, further, and then reach the widest possible audience: our films are seen by millions of people!

Around 1,000 contributors have already raised €50,000 for the production, to which we have added €150,000 raised through private investments, donations from companies and individuals, profits from our trips to India and Peru, streaming (Okast, Amazon, and YouTube), and a few product sales. And all our (long) research, investigation and synthesis, writing and rewriting (and re-rewriting) and editing and re-editing... which we don't count.

We are putting all our energy and passion into delivering a beautiful and useful series: today, your support is essential to complete and take this unique project even further!

We still have 3 episodes left to edit, plus shoots with experts and experiments, interviews, demos with scale models, and more.
And then comes POST-PRODUCTION: the complete finalization of the series — more editing of course, all the animations (maps, graphics, etc.), visual design (names and titles of contributors, captions), color grading (to ensure visual harmony), and the full audio production: voice cleaning, mixing, music, and sound design. We’re looking at around 6 hours of content (three times the length of BARABAR), and all this requires substantial resources!

We also plan to release the series at least in English and Spanish, giving you the satisfaction of having contributed to an internationally scaled production… and perhaps even to the image of France in this field, where our team is already well positioned internationally.

OUR PAST IS MORE FASCINATING THAN WE THINK

At the end of this series, it will be up to you to decide: is it even possible to build these legendary structures with rudimentary techniques and thousands of workers?

While some may already have the answer, what rational and concrete evidence is it based on? Isn't it based on the famous saying:

"If it's there and it dates from a time when only rudimentary means and techniques were available, then it must have been built with rudimentary means and techniques."

Hmm... perhaps it's not as simplistic as that.

ARE YOU READY TO RECONSIDER OUR HISTORY?

Either our ancestors were able to accomplish feats that would require enormous resources today using rudimentary techniques (in which case it would be instructive to discover them), or there are important chapters missing from our history that could have enormous consequences for our present and our future... mysterious?

Because OUR PAST DETERMINES OUR FUTURE: we will explore all of this in INKA ENIGMA.

BROADCASTING OF THE SERIES

You are eager, and so are we, but we are committed to bringing this ambitious French-made series safely to completion. That’s why we will take the necessary time to make it as polished and complete as possible, with the release now scheduled for June 2026. That’s the first point.

The second is that the episodes will be released successively, two at a time: we thought we'd let you know! As a contributor, you will be entitled to a digital preview of each episode. But we are also considering INKA ENIGMA days or nights… more on that later.
